Caitlyn, Portia or Kathy Griffin? Dream Casting 'The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills'

Christopher Ehlers READ TIME: 11 MIN.

It is an undisputed fact that Bravo's "Real Housewives" franchise is one of the most successful reality television shows of all time. Each "Housewives" show has its own charms, of course, from Atlanta and New Jersey to Salt Lake City and Orange County. But there's a special allure about "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" that makes speculation about casting just a little bit more exciting.

Naturally, "Beverly Hills" has had some celebrity housewives that were known prior to their appearance on the show, something that can't be said for the other cities. From Lisa Rinna, Denise Richards, and Eileen Davidson to Camille Grammer, Kathy Hilton, and Kyle Richards, the ladies of Beverly Hills have been a tight-knit clique of pseudo-celebrity.

Last year's long-anticipated casting of Kathy Hilton – who proved to be the best part about the show – got our wheels turning. What other denizens of the LA-area would help make "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" required viewing?

Kris Jenner

After Kathy Hilton, who finally joined the cast last year, Kris Jenner is probably the most speculated-about addition to the franchise. While it is true that Jenner might be too high-profile, and is already too tight with several of the current cast members, she would certainly add a lot of splash to the show. And given that "Keeping up with the Kardashians" ended last year, she may be in the market for a new television show.

Lori Loughlin

The entire world knows that Lori Loughlin was convicted of paying bribes in order to get her daughters into USC, and she served two months in prison as a result. While it will likely take years and years for her to escape that reputation, an up-close-and-personal look at the "Full House" star's life might help her case. Plus, we'd love to see Lisa Rinna sitting across the table from her screaming, "Just own it!"

Chrissy Teigen

Speaking of escaping a reputation, Chrissy Teigen has had her own fall from grace this past year, as a bunch of reports surfaced about some past online bullying engaged in by Mrs. John Legend. Teigen doesn't need "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" at all, and it's worth noting that she has never been rumored as a possible cast member. But she is a known fan of the show, and it would be a blast to see her interacting with the ladies. Say what you will about Teigen, she's hilarious and self-deprecating, and the show would benefit from that.

Caitlyn Jenner

We know, there are lot of problems with Caitlyn Jenner, particularly when it comes to being a spokeswoman for the trans community. If "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" wanted to cast its first trans woman, there are better options. But given Jenner's fame – and, of course Kardashian-adjacency – she would fit right in. And imagine those cat fights?

Catherine Zeta-Jones

Fans have been gunning for this casting for a little while now, though it's unclear if the Oscar winner would have any interest in this at all. And it's not like she's working on anything else. Snark aside, Zeta-Jones would add class and a dash of Hollywood royalty to the cast, something that – if you ask us – should be a given in Beverly Hills. She's also intensely likable, and we'd love to see how her addition would keep the other ladies on their toes. And on their best behavior.

Portia de Rossi

Someone's going to have to pay the bills now, since Ellen and her long-time talk show have been cancelled, and we think that "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" is a great place to start. All joking aside, de Rossi would bring a nice balance to the cast: She'd bring celebrity, but also a soft and refined elegance. Truthfully, de Rossi probably wouldn't touch Bravo with a ten-foot pole, but she would be a nice get for the show. And isn't it about time Bravo had a lesbian housewife?

Kathy Griffin

Kathy recently told the New York Times that she's trying to get back on the D-List, and there's no better place to start that quest than on reality TV. (Of course, Griffin is an Emmy winner for her own reality show). Now a cancer survivor and looking to jumpstart her career again, Griffin would be an exciting addition to the cast, so long as producers reign her in a little bit. And given her cancer diagnosis and attempted cancellation by Trump and his goons, she's got quite a story to tell. And we bet she's one of the only ladies who can say that she paid cash for her LA mansion, something she'd no doubt mention at every available turn.

Carmen Electra

This one makes so much sense, doesn't it? From her friendship with Prince to "Baywatch," Dennis Rodman, Dave Navarro, and "Singled Out," Electra has quite a story to tell, and her enigmatic personality would give quite a few ladies on the show a run for their money. No matter what she's done in her career, we've always found her likable. Isn't it about time for a Carmen Electra renaissance?

Heather Locklear

Like Carmen Electra, there have been rumors about Heather Locklear joining the show for years, particularly given how Lisa Rinna dragged her name into some drama a couple seasons ago. And, of course, she's friends with Rinna from their "Melrose Place" days, which always helps. Recently sober, Locklear has opened up about her struggles with substance abuse and mental health, and a television show like "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" would be a great platform for her to get her story out there. A few years ago, Andy Cohen expressed interest in Locklear, asking Rinna to start checking in on her.

Tori Spelling

Tori Spelling is a bit of an acquired taste, and a recent appearance on "Wheel of Fortune" had us rolling our eyes nearly every time she spoke. But Spelling has always been an acquired taste, and she's certainly had her share of public ups and downs for decades. Her mother, Candy, now 76, would also make a great special guest every now and then. And apparently, it's something Tori Spelling would consider: She's admitted to being a huge fan of the show and has even expressed sadness that she hasn't been asked. Maybe Andy Cohen finds her an acquired taste, too?
