Celebrity hairstylist Jesus Guerrero has died at the age of 34. His famous clientele are expressing their grief and affection, with Kylie Jenner offering to pay for his funeral expenses, according to the New York Times.
The Times reported that "when his family announced on Sunday that he had died at 34, the tributes from his famous clients immediately began to flood social media."
That included a heartfelt message posted to Instagram by Jenner, who wrote, "Jesus was more than my friend - he was a light in my life, a source of laughter, comfort, love, and unwavering support."
Jenner's post included photos and videos that showed the two of them both in informal settings and at work at photo shoots.
The post went on to address Guerrero directly, saying, "The pain of losing you is just unbearable and i don't know how to move forward without you but I know great grief is born only of great love. and I loved you so much."
Jenner's post added: "I wish I could hug you again. I laid in your bed the way you used to lay in mine, talking for hours."
"Khloe Kardashian echoed her sister's post on her Instagram Story in a repost," NBC News relayed.
"I couldn't find the words this weekend but this is exactly how we all feel," the outlet quoted Khloe Kardashian's post. "This is such an incredible deep loss."
Supermodel Gigi Hadid responded to Kylie Jenner's post, writing, "I am so sorry for your loss Ky. Sending so much strength and a veil of the warm and bright spirit I felt from even brief time spent around Jesus. May he rest in peace and so much love🕊️🕊️".
Posting a broken heart emoji, lifestyle influencer Karla Burton posted, "such beautiful person and so kind."
The Times noted that Jenner had been absent from the Screen Actors Guild Awards on Sunday, where Timothée Chalamet, her boyfriend, was honored with the Best Actor award for his depiction of Bob Dylan in the biopic "A Complete Unknown." Though nothing official is known about her absence, it's speculated that Jenner may have missed the event due to Guerrero's death, the Times noted.
Jennifer Lopez similarly eulogized Guerrero, posting on Instagram, "It's no surprise your mother gave you the name Jesus. You were gentle and kind and loving, quiet and unassuming, but so powerful, and your presence was felt the minute you walked into any room."
"Mr. Guerrero was known for his feminine and glam red-carpet hairstyles and blowouts," The Times detailed, before adding that he had recently "work[ed] on several high-profile projects including Kali Uchis's sleek waves at the Grammys.... and he accompanied Ms. Jenner to Paris in January for the couture shows."
"Mr. Guerrero was born in Houston to an immigrant family," the Times noted.
Contributions flowed into a GoFundMe page that Guerrero's sister, Gris, set up. "Unfortunately, his passing came very suddenly and unexpectedly," Gris posted on the page, NBC News detailed. "Currently, his family is taking care of his personal belongings and accommodations to bring him home to Houston."
After Jenner's offer to pay for Guerrero's funeral expenses, his "family turned off further donations, with Ms. Guerrero, who did not immediately respond to a request for comment, saying in the update that the $96,000 raised would go toward getting Mr. Guerrero's belongings back to his family home and other expenses associated with his death."
