Hazel Hoffman's 'Call Me By Your Name' Summer Romance Comes to Life
Andrea Marks Joseph READ TIME: 1 MIN.
"Call me whatever you want, just don't stop calling me," wrote photographer Erick Monterrosa when captioning his "Call Me By Your Name"-inspired shoot featuring models Hazel Hoffman and Rafael Torres.
The queer coming-of-age film directed by Luca Guadagnino and starring Timothée Chalamet is rich in sensual, carefree summer vibes, and that's what these gorgeous models and photographer Monterrosa so beautifully recreated. Torres can be seen feeding Hoffman, whose mouth is open and wanting. The couple drink rosé, caress each other in displays of love, and gaze into each other's eyes with adoration. There's a photo of the models with their bicycles on a cobbled road where Torres is clearly checking out Hoffman from behind. It's very much a summer romance fantasy come to life.
When sharing photos of the models laughing while picking fruit from trees in a beautiful garden, with Hoffman being carried on Torres' shoulders, Monterrosa asked his followers: "In a world where hookup culture, instant connections, and 'no strings attached' seem to dominate, is there still space for romance?" We were pleased to see several queer couples in the comments saying they've been together for many, many years and are still in love, providing hope of romance to those who may feel skeptical.
