Singer-songwriter Jordy is ready to have "Sex With Myself." The Illinois-born star said that the title of the album, released June 14, is a play on many personal changes and realizations the he has undergone recently.

In an interview with GLAAD's Anthony Allen Ramos, Jordy shared, "what I'm learning is, it's always a journey."

Jordy said being dropped from his label at the end of last year gave him the opportunity to really think about what he wanted.

"It put me in a position to think about, 'What do I want to do?' because now I could actually do whatever I want without anybody controlling the narrative," he said, adding that it became a chance for him to "explore something I haven't yet."

That included his sexuality.

"I've been exploring myself and my sexuality, and that's what was authentic to me," the singer said. "This was my time to take some risks and do things that I haven't done before."

According to Jordy, the album is chock full of "fun and sexy songs," and it's the product of that time spent exploring.

"None of these songs would exist if it weren't for this journey I've been going on with myself," he said. "At the end of the day, you're not going to vibe with anyone else if you're not vibing with you."

And that's a big part of the meaning behind the album's title, "Sex With Myself."

"We, as queer people, grow up lacking the validation that so many other people have in our world, so it makes sense that as we get older, we want to find love... for many years I was really looking for that validation in other people," said Jordy. "It's really important you get to a place where you're okay being alone, because at the end of the day, if love is something I wish for... I want to take advantage of this time I have alone."
