Looking Back at Unforgettable 'Real Housewives' Moments

Christopher Ehlers READ TIME: 11 MIN.

It's hard to imagine that it's been 15 years since Bravo's "Real Housewives" franchise first entered the American pop culture canon. It all started with "Orange County," which led to a string of delicious spin-offs, some massively successful (New York City, Atlanta, New Jersey, Beverly Hills), and some not so successful (D.C., Dallas, Miami).

For about as long as the show has been on the air, fans have been clamoring for an all-star season featuring Housewives from different cities, which finally became a reality this month when "The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip" came to NBC's new streaming platform, Peacock. (In addition, "The Real Housewives of Miami" will make a comeback on Peacock next month.)

In honor of "Ultimate Girls Trip," which will join together Teresa Giudice and Melissa Gorga (New Jersey); Cynthia Bailey and Kenya Moore (Atlanta); Luann de Lesseps and Ramona Singer (New York City); and Kyle Richards (Beverly Hills), here's a look at 10 of the most enduring, unforgettable moments of the "Real Housewives" franchise.

Prostitution whore!

Even those who never watched an episode of "The Real Housewives of New Jersey" know this reference, which went a long way towards helping propel the "Real Housewives" to the elite pop culture status it still commands today. On the first season of "New Jersey," things came to a head on the finale when Teresa Giudice and Danielle Staub finally had it out...and Teresa gifted us with the "table flip heard 'round the world."

Go to sleep! Go to sleep!

This entry really could be multiple parts, beginning with Kelly Bensimon's bizarre breakdown on the New York City ladies' vacation in the Virgin Islands. After Bensimon had been unraveling on camera all day, Bethenny Frankel finally had enough and had it out with her at the dinner table. Bensimon's reaction is just as classic as the words flying out of Frankel's mouth, which makes this one of the many perfect "Real Housewives" moments.

You stole my goddamn house!

This epic Beverly Hills scene that occurred in a limo between real life sisters Kim and Kyle Richards is harder to watch today given Kim's struggles with alcoholism and addiction, which clearly fueled a lot of her behavior in this scene. But the tensions and real-life family drama that had been percolating for years finally came to a boiling point during this limo ride from hell.

The morally corrupt Faye Resnick

(This video is in five parts).

This timeless dinner party scene from Beverly Hills is just about as bonkers as anything that has ever aired on the show. Allison DuBois, a medium that supposedly inspired Patricia Arquette's character on "Medium," joined the ladies for an off-the-rails dinner party in which Kim picks a fight with Taylor Armstrong, Camille Grammer throws shade at Faye Resnick over her "Playboy "spread, and DuBois tells Kyle that her husband will never fulfill her. Make some popcorn for this one.

I cooked! I decorated! I made it nice

Dorinda Medley was the best thing to happen to the New York City franchise until she wasn't, departing the show after a particularly rough season 12. But her booze-fueled outbursts were classic, none more fulfilling than her teary-eyed "I made it nice!" rant while hosting the other ladies at her home in the Berkshires.

I am very rich, bitch.

When Sheree Whitfield and NeNe Leakes sat down to hash out their problems surrounding Sheree's accusation that NeNe had gone behind her back to make money, things escalated quickly, prompting NeNe – who had just appeared on "The Celebrity Apprentice" – to brag about cashing Trump checks.

Luann falls in the bushes. Twice.

Of all the crazy moments on this list, this might just be the quickest, but it is so damn funny that we could watch it all day. On a particularly messy (and boozy) trip to Mexico, a wildly drunk Luann de Lesseps fell into the bushes twice. TWICE! Chic c'est la vie.

Why don't you have a piece of bread and maybe you'll calm down?

This is one of those epic "Real Housewives" moments that just gets better with age. While on vacation in Amsterdam, the Beverly Hills ladies had an all-out brawl at a restaurant. After picking fights with everyone at the table, Kim Richards made some insinuations about Lisa Rinna's husband, Harry Hamlin. The result? Rinna physically lunged at Kim and then smashed a glass on the table while shouting "Don't ever go near my husband!"

For a real laugh, check out some of this classic ASMR parody that is, in some ways, better than the original.

Aviva's leg toss.

Aviva Drescher didn't bring much to "The Real Housewives of New York City," but she sure left us with something memorable. After the girls had been giving the perpetually "sick" Drescher a hard time for claiming her doctor wouldn't allow her to go on vacation with them, she showed up for a dinner at the chic Cipriani to meet the other ladies. Naturally, things escalated, which culminated in Drescher throwing her prosthetic leg onto the table.

Anything involving Kathy Hilton

Beverly Hills' latest housewife, Kathy Hilton, has quickly become the highlight of the franchise. There's something about her extreme quirkiness and aloofness matched with her massive wealth that makes her impossible to resist. Rumor has it that Hilton is currently at odds with Bravo over her salary for next season. Let's hope that Bravo sees the light and gives this diva everything she wants. Kathy Hilton forever!
