Orlando Pride is Almost Here! Profiles of 2015's Entertainers

Orlando Pride is one of the largest LGBT pride celebrations in the state of Florida, with over 100,000 people attending the festivities in both 2013 and 2014. So many people come to Orlando Pride because the atmosphere is infectious and everyone has a great time, due in part to the great live entertainment lineups that come to Central Florida every October, just for us!

Here are the profiles of the entertainers that will be seen at Orlando Pride's Pride on Church Street (Oct. 9), Club H2O (Oct. 10) and Parliament House's after-Pride party (also Oct. 10).

Amy & Freddy

Music and comedy duo Amy Armstrong and Freddy Allen have been performing together at venues across the country and around the world for the past 15 years. They have produced four musical comedy albums and have entertained people on RSVP Vacations cruises for the past ten years. Very loyal to the LGBT community, the duo has raised over $15 million for LGBT charities. They are based in Chicago.

Bob the Drag Queen

Bob the Drag Queen is the stage name of Christopher Caldwell. Originally from Columbus, Georgia, he now lives in New York City. He picked the name "Bob the Drag Queen" because he felt it was unique and humorous. He has performed as his character in a number of New York City bars, such as XES Lounge and Therapy, and has also taken his act on the road across the country.

Beth Sacks

Beth Sacks is a house music artist and singer who lives in New York City. She considers Inaya Day, Martha Wash and Deborah Cox to be some of her musical influences. For the last three years, Beth has been working with circuit remixer and producer DJ Aron. In addition to Orlando Pride, Beth has also performed at the Miami Beach, Santa Fe, Washington D.C. and New York City Gay Pride celebrations.

DJ JB Burgos

Originally from New Jersey, JB Burgos now calls Orlando his home. He is well-known in the Central Florida music scene, having spun at a number of hot Orlando nightspots, such as Lucky's Lounge, The Brink, SAVOY Orlando, Pulse Orlando, Southern Nights, and more. He has also performed as a guest DJ at high-profile events such as Gay Days at the DoubleTree.

Ginger Minj and The Minx

Ginger Minj and The Minx are a drag duo from right here in The City Beautiful. They have performed a number of two-women shows, most notably at Hamburger Mary's Orlando, where they have hosted Facebook Fridays and the always-sold-out Broadway Brunch on Sunday mornings. They are no strangers to Orlando Pride, performing at various events during Pride week for the last few years. Ginger Minj placed joint third on this past season of RuPaul's Drag Race.

DJ "Twisted Dee" Martello

Twisted Dee is originally from Long Island, and started her DJing career in New York City, where she was in demand at a number of popular Manhattan nightclubs. She branched out to perform her DJ sets at circuit parties away from New York City; she has been a hit both at home and abroad. She currently holds three DJ residencies: one in New York City, and then also in Atlanta and San Francisco.

DJ Edil Hernandez

Edil Hernandez was born in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico and now calls Orlando home. He originally did not consider DJing as a full-time job since he already worked as an industrial engineer. Always passionate about music, he would make dance remix sessions for himself and his friends. People started buzzing about his talents, and he performed his first set in public in 2011. Over the past few years, he has embraced the DJ life, spinning at various events in Florida, Puerto Rico, and further afield.

Mimi Marks

Mimi Marks has been entertaining crowds for nearly 30 years, and she is well-known for being a trailblazer for transgender women who wish to break into the entertainment industry. For a time, she was the only transgender model to be signed to Ford Models' female division. She has won a number of beauty queen titles, such as Miss Continental, The World's Most Beautiful Transsexual, and Miss International Queen. She is currently on cast at The Baton Show Lounge in Chicago.

Jordin Sparks

Jordin Sparks is originally from Glendale, Arizona, where she won "best young artist" awards in the local music scene three years running. She won the sixth season of American Idol in 2007; at the age of 17, she became the youngest winner in the show's history. Her first five singles ("This is My Now," "Tattoo," "No Air," "One Step at a Time," and "Battlefield") all reached the top twenty on the pop charts, making her the first and only American Idol singer to achieve this feat. Her most recent album, Right Here, Right Now, was released this past August.
